About The Department
One of the most distinguished departments in the college, the Department of science has always striven for excellence in terms of teaching-learning pedagogy. Whether it is theory or practice, the main aim of pedagogy here is to build on learning and work on the development of skills and attitudes of the learners. The growing stature of the Department is quite evidently demonstrated by the meritorious students who emerge as university toppers, being able to enroll in some of the best post-graduate, research-based Science and Engineering programmes in India and abroad, including in renowned institutions all under the capable supervision of a strong team of committed teaching faculty.
The Department offers B.Sc (Physical Science) course which is an amalgamation of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. In addition to these courses, the Department has the responsibility of skill Enhancement Courses (SEC) papers and Value-Added Courses (VAC) to students of other departments. These courses provide an extensive theoretical background with a balanced practical component.
A host of activities are organized by the Department to keep the faculty and students abreast of the latest education developments in the field of science and related interdisciplinary sciences.
